Flight Simulator X is the final edition of this series to be produced by Microsoft. Although a great game, there are many serious technical faults in the earliest versions of the series, which were never corrected. I'll begin with a gaming perspective, and then come back to these later. As a game (as opposed to simulator), FSX is great fun and easy to get into as long as you have a joystick. You should factor in the cost of a decent joystick when thinking of buying any flight sim. There is a wide range or aircraft to choose from, including helicopters and historical planes such as the Wright flier. There are many options to fiddle with in the realism settings, which means you can tailor the difficulty depending on your level of knowledge and experience. The aircraft look beautiful, and the scenery has come a long way. There is a lot more dynamic scenery (other planes, boats, cars etc) than in previous versions, which help to make the world seem a little more alive. The air-traffic control system has also been improved, and you can have a more genuine experience by playing online and using the VOIP system to communicate with other players. A welcome inclusion are flying challenges, which are fun scenarios and mini-games which develop and test your skills. Unfortunately, I have to move to the main drawback of this game, and all previous FS titles; the flight model. The model developed to simulate the physics of flying is outdated and has been upgrade in a rather hap-hazard way over the years. It is a far cry from the sophisticated, and significantly more accurate finite-element method used in the X-Plane series. As a result, if you are a serious simmer I'd strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
I recently bought this amazing game, about two weeks ago. being a student pilot myself i see this game very realistic, and the graphics are amazing. If your into flying and into planes then this game is just for you. You can fly with any joystick you want (i use my ps3 six axis controller), trust me it is much easier to land a plane like that. but of course there are some down sides about this game. 1) multiplayer sucks. the lobby is always full, Gamespy should put more servers. and even if you do get in, you wont have much fun as the servers are very laggy. 2) You need a really good computer with really high spec to get graphics that will satisfy you. on my computer i got it on medium graphics so it wont lag and i have the following specs. Inter core 2 duo. Geforce graphics card 8800gt Windows xp. 2gb ram. i have heard that this game works much better on a vista so i will try soon. overall the game is amazing. much better than x plane 9 as it is more user friendly. i will give it 9/10. tariq
This game is very realistic the water on the game is that good it looks real the planes on the game include boeing, airbus, learjet and cesna. So already the game looks good but there is another thing thats good about it if you want fly from you local airport yes you can all the airports of the world are there. You can fly anywhere in the world like JFK airport in new york or john lennon in liverpool. This flight simulator is alot better than its other simulators like FS2002 and FS2004 this is better. If you do not have a good pc or laptop it doesn't matter because it can be altered using its options you can put the realistic (high or low) or even put the water as (reflect or detailed or reflect and detailed). This give you time to think what is right for your computer. Altogether it was a 4**** star game if you are into aircrafts this is the game for you.
I think Microsoft flight simulator X is the best airplane game ever. I heard they use it on the flight academies. People who want to become a pilot can practice with this game because it's so realistic. In the games are lots of airports and airplanes. All the airplanes and airports really exist. When you're flying you can go into the cockpit and see al the buttons etc. there are lots of different flight-plans in the game. For example: Schiphol, Amsterdam to New york. i bought the game a few months ago and every time i play it it feels like im a pilote or a captain on a real plane. I bought the game a few months ago and every time I play it, it feels like I am a pilot or a captain on a real plane. That's how realistic this game is. If you always play race games , than you have to try one of the flight simulators.
This is indeed the best flight simulator game out there in my view, its easy to learn even for first time flight simulator users and its amazingly realistic, If you love flying or are a wannabe pilot or just like a good game. This is for you. There is one thing though, the game requires a good computer with a good graphics card, the better the graphic card you have the more you would enjoy it, A bad computer will not do the game justice and there is not point in you spending your money if you don't have a descent memory and graphic card. I would Also suggest to get a good joystic if the game is to e really enjoyed, it can be played on keyboard but that is not worth it. The game will not take you long to master, its easier than other ones out there but still retains it realistic aspect
Microsoft Flight Simulator X is probably the most realistic flight simulation game on the market, On the right computer the graphics are quite remarkable. Wannabe pilots will love this game for how realistic the aircrafts are, Microsoft paid close attention to the true workings of an airplane and have created the closest thing players will ever come to flying an aircraft from the comfort of their computer chair. The game is also very entertaining, and while it may seem daunting at first, especially to gamers who have never played any of the Microsoft Flight Simulators it doesn't take long to get the hang of, the hardest part is take off, and once that's mastered there will be no issues for players. I would have to say this is the best game ever to be released with an ESRB rating of 'Everyone.' This game is the complete package for every gamer.
