Advantages: A Must For Football Fans, It Just Never Gets Boring!

Disadvantages: Can Be Slow On Some Older Poorer Computers, But Still Very Much Playable

Football Manager 2006 is a PC/Mac game wherby you are the manager of your chosen team. I bought this game on the day it come out in November 2005 and have been playing it ever since.

If you have any interest in the wonderful world of football, then you should buy this game, and bring glory to your team. Many people say, and have said to me (mostly women mind), 'what is the attraction of just watching and not actually playing?'. It's a good question, but I think the beauty of watching the match unfold infront of you is that you are not controlling it, you have used your footballing wit to create tactics, buy new players and train your players effectively, and now you are watching them play and seeing how well you have done and what you need to change to improve in your next match. If you were to actually play the match then your tactics would not be what determines the score but how good you are at the game.

There are hundreds of teams to be on the game stretching from the English Conference North/South to South Africa. In edition to that there are thousands of other teams who you cannot manage (and will probably have no desire to anyway) such as Egyptian clubs and the like.

The database of players is incredibly big and so, before you start your new game you state how large you want the database to be and what league you want to run in detail (if theya re not in detail then you cannot manage clubs from that country), as well as any additional nations you want to have players froom but you will not be able to play as clubs from that country. This is because, the bigger the database, the slower the game runs as it has more to load and run. If you have a very good, fast computer however, you could run all if you wish.

Currently, after playing many single player games, i am playing an online game with my friend. I couldn't believe how easy it is to start an online game. All you need is for everyone involved in the online game to have Football Manager 2006, and an active internet connection. Then you simply exchange IP addresses, type them into the relevant box on the game and you are connected, and the entertainment of it is second-to-none.

I have been involved in one other online game which was for a 'clan'. Clan's are groups of people who all play an online game together and write about their season on the game. The one i was involved with was called EPL Challenge and involced around 10 of us. We played every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night for a couple of hours and it was so ejoyable.

I have done this review as i'd like to share the love for FM and perhaps spur people to go out and buy it. FM 2007 is due out at Christmas and should be even better than 2006, but because of this, FM 2006's price has dropped significantly and a new copy can be picked up for £10 in some places.

For a game that never gets boring due to it's sheer size and the choices it gives you, buy Football Manager 2006, and become a Manager.

Summary: An accurate, entertaining, addictive and comprehensive football managing game.

Hi, Welcome to dooyoo. I'm the new PC/Video Games Guide. Top Tips:
1) Write your reviews in word, then use spell & grammar check.
2) Layout your review neatly so for others to read easily.
3) If you want more reads, you must read other people's reviews yourself.
and try not to post so many reviews with in the same time as you will get less reads.
