Advantages: 3d match engine, manage your favourite team

Disadvantages: can be extremely frustrating!

Sega's 2009 edition of the nation's favourite football management simulation sees a brand new 3d match display as the major improvement.

The Football Manager game series allows you to immerse yourself in statistics and take control of your favourite domestic or national side and pit your wits against some of the top managers in the world.

Compared to the 2008 edition there are not that many changes, the 3d match view is one and there has been some aesthetic changes to the layout. An improvement in the game's AI system means that managers can now "learn" your tactics and implement counter tactics in an attempt to defeat you.

Currently priced at £9.99 on Amazon this is a bargain for any football fan who wonders if they are the next Mourinho or Arsene Wenger however if you can afford to then maybe it would be best to wait a few months for the newer Football Manager 2010.

All in all it's not a bad game, but I prefer Football Manager 2008 as I feel the game plays better and is generally more enjoyable.
