Advantages: Easy navigation and great database

Disadvantages: Too realistic can take the fun out of playing

I bought football manager 2009 after purchasing the previous years since 2005. After reading the information on their website and finding they had finally included a 3D game option, I was excited that 2009 would be a big step up after the relative disappointment of 2008! The game does definately have may new and improved features such as the media centre and the transfer rumours page. However I get the feeling the actual gameplay and match experience has not improved year on year. Interaction on the pitch is still very basic and tactics can often be annoying to get exactly what you want! Having said that the database has improved and it is much easier to navagate through the whole game! What I think they need to remember is how everyone fell in love with the original football and championship managers and make the game as fun to play as possible rather than always trying to make the game so realistic that people dont enjoy it as much. Having said that 2009 was my first experience of online play and I really enjoyed it, so well done for that!
