A decent step up from 08 (Football Manager 2009 (PC))

Advantages: Has a 3D match engine

Another installment in the football manager series and this time it has a 3D match engine. I was really excited about the 3D match engine but felt it didn't run very smoothly and the loading time for matches was slightly too long to encourage several hours of game play which the other games in this series encouraged. However as usual sports interactive have produced a very playable and enjoyable game with a few more options than in the 08 version. These features include a new player rating system and improved match stats which allow you to analyse games better than before. Press conferences have also been introduced and while they seem like a good enjoyable addition to start with they become tedious quickly and you end up always sending your assistant to them instead. There is also greater interaction between you and your assistant which adds a little to the game but isn't much different to the previous games.

Summary: More feature rich than 08 but gameplay is slightly compromised
