Advantages: Team Fighting
Disadvantages: Could be longer
Now Freedom Fighters is in my top ten games of all time, and is one of those games that just seems above average, until I hit a certain point of the game and went WOW what a game. To design a game like this is incredible and it is evident that a lot of work has been put in. So if the makers of this game every ready this review then thanks a lot for the game and please finished the second.
I mentioned above that I only fell in love with this game at a certain point and that was about thirty minutes into the gameplay where I got given command of two soldiers. I really mean that, full command. I could send them to the exact point of the screen I wanted them to and make them defend the area or attack surrounds or even just stay with me as I roam about and help me out if there is any trouble. It is like being a god that is living on Earth. You can increase your charisma which basically earns you more respect in other words and it is possible to control up to..... wait for it ..... twelve soldiers at one time. So you can send a few to different places and really do whatever you want to. This sounds complicated but the three comands you give them are easy to implement and if everything is getting too complicated you can recall all your troops with one easy button and everyone comes running back. The squad is quite intelligent and it is up to you how effective they are and your man management skills are tested to the max!
Now each mission consists of mini objectives and once you have completed them you have to find the flag and raise it to receive your freedom. At the exact point you raise the flag the mission is completed. If you are very good you can forget the mini objectives and head straight for the flag. This is practically impossible but I have achieved it a few times with a bit of luck and adds to teh intensity of the game.
Unfortunateily a small issue with the game is that it is not long enough, well fi you are an experienced gamer like me than it can be completed within days. However there are four difficulties and if you play it at the hardest difficulty then it is very very hard and you would have to have played it before and be very tactical to get through it. Also if you complete it in any of the two hardest difficulties then you get an extra bonus level, which is great just to get that bit extra out of the game. Oh yea I forgot to mention the plot, basically it consists of the Soviet Union and all that and really is not that important. The main fun is the game playability and should not be missed.
Even though it is a few years old I suggest that anyone with a PC or laptop should go get this game, as even the specs will be good as it is a few years old, so should work on anyones systems. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the game.
Summary: Go and play this now!
