Advantages: Great Racing,Realistic
Disadvantages: 98 License,Not to much different from gp2
I have read some reviews on this game now and I thought I better give my opinion. This game in the racing community has been eagerly awaited for several years now and there was high expectations for the July 28th release date.I was there with my reserved copy first day and couldn`t wait to get it home. When I did I have to say I was slightly dissapointed it was more of a gp2.5 rather than a gp3,the sounds and graphics where the same as gp2 but there was new circuits, cars, teams, and the addition of weather to the game. But in saying that after the first couple of days you soon get into it and it becomes addictive its not an arcade game like f12000,it is very realistic and driving in the rain takes alot of practise having to perfect the accelaration speed is very frustrating as in the early days you spend most of your time in a spin!Once you start to move up the levels the racing becomes brilliant and puts even the veteran racing sim driver to the test. The fact it has the 1998 license was a problem at the start but thanks to two sights in particular www.alphaf1.com/gp3 and www.f1gp3.it you can now get sepang and indianapolis for it aswell as an updated Monza. You can also get new track adverts for the 2000 season, new cars, pit crews, helmets you name it it has been updated. Grand Prix 4 is to be released in early 2001,this is to include all the updates for the 1999 season but my worry is first of all the cost considering you have already forked out thirty quid for gp3 and the fact that it took them 4 years to make gp3 and gp4 is only 6 months so in my mind apart from the new skins and the sepang circuit there isn`t going to be alot new to the game. For now I fully recommend gp3 as it becomes addictive so its best not to have a girlfriend whilst your trying to conquer it!
