Grand Theft Auto 3 started a new style of freedom within the gaming world.
You play as a character named Tommy, who has to find work with the mafia, the triads and the mexicans to get to the top and get even with your ex girlfriend who did you over at a bank robbery you were working on.

There are 3 fictional cities in Grand Theft Auto 3, Portland is the 1st island you start on. as you progress through the game you unlock the other two cities which are bigger and have faster cars and more detail.

One of the best features about this game is the fact you don't have to go through the missions and complete the game, you can feel free to drive around the city and wreak havoc amongst the civilians, gang members and police until your hearts content!
The ability to steal any car in this big world is amazing
