Advantages: Amazing graphics and fantastic gameplay that never becomes old.

Disadvantages: High hardware requirements

A straight port from the console versions - Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series is just as much controversially violent as normal, pushing all aspects of free roaming gameplay to the limit.

Liberty City, based upon New York city, has been fantastically made and features everything from high rise skyscrapers to run down suburbs and the iconic statue of liberty. Not only is the city graphically beautiful, but it also teems with life. People walk the streets, drive around, go into shops, talk on mobile phones, get into fights... the list is almost endless. You really do get the sense that you are inside a real city and that anything and everything is at your fingertips.

And it really is. There are hundreds of different vehicles to choose from including cars, motorbikes, speedboats and helicopters and they all handle and look differently. You can cruise the streets in a stylish convertable or hop in a 10 tonne lorry and mow people down with ease.

The weapons are also just as unique and well-designed, although there aren't as many as previous GTA games. There are poor and rich versions of each weapon for each weapon category, offering some choice for players who are strapped for cash.

The real new venture for the series is the frankly brilliant multiplayer modes. Work as a team doing Mafia work, play as a cop chasing down crooks, race or just go for a good old fashioned deathmatch, amongst many others. Player skins are entirely customisable and have more options than the console versions of the game. The only problem with the multiplayer are the occasional players who jump around with bad internet connections and the occasional cheaters who will spawn vehicles around them during unranked matches.

This game is fantastic and a must-buy for everyone who loves the GTA series, although the PC version is only recomended to those whos hardware exceeds the minimum requirements, as framerate and graphical issues will be experienced otherwise.

A definate 10/10 for this masterpiece of a game.

Summary: This game is one of the best on the market and a definate must-buy for all fans of action games.
