Released back in 1999, 'Grand Theft Auto: London 1969' is the first official expansion pack for the original (and best) GTA game, so rather than the admittedly swish-looking, style-over-content visuals of the later GTA games, players are instead treated to very simple top-down low-res graphics that resemble a 90s amiga game rather than a modern PC game. As with the original however the graphics are perfectly suited as the gameplay itself is as good as ever, this time casting you as part of a crime gang carrying out carjackings, assassinations, heists and the like as before but this time at the back-end of the swinging sixties and surrounded by cockenys and ... This game was more of an add on to the original grand theft auto game. You needed the original for it to work. Obviously the setting for the game was London and therefore you got to drive on roads that looks more like british roads than american. Also the cars where different, you could even drive a big red bus. The was basically the same gameplay as the original where you had to carry out missions to get a certain amount of points and then when you have enough points to can progress to the next level. When you progress a level you get a cut scene from a boss ganster. One quote I remember was "Your the monkey and I am the cheese grater". The music in the ... Read the complete review

Another version of the grand theft auto saga. This version was not quite as publicised as the rest but is, nonetheless, a great game to play. Grand theft auto London 1969, tries to display the reality of London at the end of the 60s. The city is somewhat similar to its real world counterpart although it is far from being a carbon copy of the real city. Most of the neighborhoods are correctly located though. The game has very week graphics, worse than GTA1 but the logic of the mission and functionalities are very similar. In terms of gameplay, GTA is without a doubt, the fastest GTA available. The movement of the character is very fast and specially cars ... Read the complete review

If you didn't enjoy GTA or GTA2 skip this and go straight to GTA3. There's nothing new about GTA London other than that it's set in London. Really, that's it. You still have the same awkward overhead view, the same awful shooting controls, the same wandering around a boring city hoping you recall the layout and that you don't die immediately because ofthe awful shooting style. If you're hoping to see how GTA progressed to GTA3 through GTA2 and GTA London let me warn you, you're not going to see it so don't waste your time on any GTA games earlier than GTA3 unless you're a fan of the old classics. The style of play is completely different and whilst ... Read the complete review

GRAND THEFT AUTO : LONDON 1969 ------------------------------ Now most people have probably heard of the Grand theft auto series of games, made popular by the 3d efforts of GTA3 and Vice City, but before these 3d masterpieces there were 3 other games, yep there was GTA1 and 2, then there was this little number released as an add on disc for GTA1. This add-on pack was released in 1999, and was created by DMA designs(who were later to be known as Rockstar) these were famous for bringing the Lemmings games to our screens. When GTA 1 was first released there was a lot of controversy about the game, mainly due to the amount of ... Read the complete review
