as the title implies,its good to steal cars (Grand Theft Auto (PC))

When I was 16 and I wanted my mum to by me this game(as I was two years underage).She looked at the case and said "let me see, Grand - good, theft - stealing, Auto - cars. This game is implying that it is good to steal cars, so therefore you are not having it". I was very upset buy this and got really upset and just moped around sulking. But anyway three years on I got this game from electronics boutique for a five pounds. Enough talk here is my review on it.

The basic idea of the game is to steal cars, run people over, blow things up and complete missions. To aid you in this you have a big choice of characters. You can name your character whatever you want. Calling the character certain names will unlock various cheats in the game.

There are three different cities. Each city has two levels. Each level is big and complex. You start off each level with three lives and three lives for being arrested. To complete a level you need to get so much money. You get money from completing missions and generally blowing every thing up. The missions are usually along the lines of get this car and have it resprayed or have whoever murdered.

However when you murder somone or steal a car you can get cops chaseing you. This can be good but it can also be bad. Its good because you can run over the cops and get loads of points and then steal there super speedy cars. But it is bad becuase you can only get arrested three times. So what you do when you have loads of cops chasing you is, you go to a re-spray shop and have the cars plates changed of have the cary resprayed.

Randomly dotted across the levels are little crates. Inside these crates there are guns ,body armour, police bribes and get out of jail free cards. You can get some really fierce weapons like the rocket launcher which can blow buildings up, But you can also load of little feeble guns like the pistol which takes loads of shots to make something blow up.

The graphics of this game are very basic although that is really to be expected for a game of its age. The game runs very smoothly but will occasionally freeze for a couple of seconds at the start of the level. The view is a birds eye one, The faster you get your car going the further the screen zooms out. This works really well and was a great idea. The music is just the sound affects and the sound of the car radio, Every different type of car is tuned into a different radio station.

This game is really good and a real classic of a game. You can’t go wrong with it and it lasts for ages. This game is well worth buying and it will only cost you £5. So if you ask me you should go out and buy it.

You may be interested to know that the following are required:
· 16mb ram
· 80mb of free disk space.
· 1mb vesa (any old video card)
· Sound card(anyone will do)
All of this stuff is very basic computer equipment and even the oldest computer should have it.
