Advantages: Fun, lots of action, can last a long time
Disadvantages: Can get boring because of instanced gameplay.
If you're reading this you're probably already aware that guild wars is an MMORPG, similar to World of Warcraft except with no monthly cost, so i'll tell you my opinions on the game.
Firstly this is probably the most advanced free MMORPG (when i say free i just mean no monthly cost) and in my opinion the most fun. However it does have its disadvantages which i found when playing it.
The first disadvantage in my opinion is the fact that while in citys and 'outposts' the game feels like an MMO with plently of other people around you to talk to and interact with, but when you leave the town to do misions and quests the game becomes your own little world where only you and a small group of people in your 'party' do the missions alone.
Because of this instanced gameplay the game really feels like more of a normal RPG than an MMO.
This does have its advantages such as being able to play with very little lag, but in my opinion the disadvantages outweigh the advantages and i soon found myself getting bored of the game. This is why i have only given the game a 3* rating.
In conclusion, i found that the game got boring after a while, but since it's only £10 i'd reccomend buying it to try out anyway because you may find trhat you don't mind the disadvantage i mentioned. Just buy the first one at first then if you like it you can upgrade and buy the expansions
Hopefully the completely new version - guild wars 2 - will be coming out in late 2009 which seems to fix every problem i had with the game.
Summary: Cool game, try it out
