Advantages: Good game, and no sub. fees!

Disadvantages: GW 2 coming out, wait for that, also you need to keep buying expantions to stay up 2 date

Guild wars is a mass multiplayer online role playing game, or MMORPG for short. The aim of guildwars is to train up your character, collecting new skills, weapons, more money and so on.
What character classes can you play as?
On this game, you can play as warrior, ranger, elementalist, monk, mesmerer or necromancer, but if you buy the expantion packs, there are more classes, including assasins and paragon, and more! Each class has a unique set of attribute, in which different points can be assigned, and each class has its own set of skills, and armour. Your character can have a primary class, and then a secondary class, but the secondary class can be changed after you "ascend" in the dessert. Each class has four attriubute, and the fourth attribute can only be used if the class is your "primary class"

What game modes are there?
There are two game modes, pve and pvp. Pve is player verses enemy, which is basically you versus the computer, although you can have human players as allies in this. This method allows you to do missions, and you can use PvE characters in pvp mode. Pvp mode is player versus player mode. A character created who is a pvp character, instantly is the highest levels, has all the spells that you have unlocked on your account, and all the runes and so forth. Pvp games included alliance battles, guild battles and team battles. I am not going to go into detail in these, as you need to know some game lingo, and some specifics about the game you can only really learn by playing.

What games are similar to this, and why is guildwars better?
This game is similar to world of warcraft, but in order to play world or warcraft, you must pay a monthly subscription, which in the long run can cost a lot of money. On guildwars however, you only pay for this disc, but there are however many expantion disks, so in order to get all the skills, map etcc, you do need to keep buying the new discs

Any disadvantages?
There is one, guildwars 2 is likely to be out soon, so if you buy this game, it may not be a long lasting investment as everyone moves to guildwars 2, so best just to wait for that to be released, and buy that
