Gunman Chronicles (2000) is a massively familiar gaming experience. It is a first person shooter powered by the Half-Life engine, with minimum alterations. The player assumes the role of Major Archer, a gunman marine in the future, with a pretty standard objective - Destroy the alien threat. It is very much a Half-Life clone, to the point where if the windows key is accidentally tapped during gameplay, Gunman Chronicles registers in the taskbar as "Half-Life." Well I am sitting here wondering how best to describe this game. Immediatley one thing jumps out at me. It is a game that all pc gamers will know. Half-Life. The reason for this is because this game is basically Half-Life wrapped in a new skin. Even when you hit the windows key on the keyboard to bring up the taskbar and exit whatever you are doing in the task bar window it shows up as Half-Life. basically what they have done is took the half-life engine and remodelled everything but playability and graphically it remains the same.
