Advantages: A lot like Half life 2, Linear.

Disadvantages: A lot like Half life 2, good action, nice story, interesting enemies.

at the end of half life 2 our heroes where trapped on top of the citadel Unable to escape a giant explosion, Gordon freeman, distinguished physicist and unwilling employee to the mysterious G-man ripped away from time and space and locked in some sort of stasis by the G-man, In Half Life 2 Episode 1 we see what happens next, as strange purple vortigaunts free you and Alex from the ever prying eyes of the mysterious G-man

As you wake up you find yourself at the base of the Citadel being dug out by Alex and Dog, upon contacting doctor Kleiner you learn that you are pretty much dead anyway unless you go on a daring mission into the core to slow down the meltdown this will only buy you time however but that might just be enough for you to make it out.

While Half Life 2 has an atmosphere of oppression and rebellion and episode 2 which has an air of constant danger and distrust of what is ahead Episode 1 focuses on the Horror aspect of the post combine earth as combine equipment fails as a result of the events at the citadel the antlions and head crabs are swarming all over the city.

The game play is more or less the same as the indoor parts of Half life 2 but if you enjoyed Half life 2 you should pick this one up too since it is still a blast, there are some funny parts too Iam not going to give away

*at this point a fight occurred amongst some of the people living in the I guess it can be described as community housing ? across the street and I lost focus on what I was gonna write here, sorry.*

eehm yeah,there are also some new enemies ... I guess that's about it.

Summary: short but a blast, literaly.
