Advantages: physics, sound, interactivity, AI, combat
Disadvantages: graphics are not super(but considering it was made a few years ago its good)
Hi, For anyone who doesn't know, Half Life 2 is a strategic FPS (First Person Shooter) with a good storyline.
Half Life 2 is about the return of Gordon Freeman, awakened again by G-Man to rid the world of evil. when Gordon wakes up he finds the world in combine control (men who have been controled to kill troubelsome rebels-like Gordon, and keep mankind under constant control and supervision).
The storyline is very good and goes perfectly with what you have done and leaves you in full control of the game (no completely animated cutscenes) the voiceover is very good and depending on where you are standing and who is speaking, come out of different speakers and at different volumes (for instance, if Dr kliner was speaking on your left, sound would come out of your left speaker) which make the game feel very realistic.
The graphics are good and dont make your eyes bleed but they arnt extremely realistic either.
The physics engine is very full and is active throughout the whole game and puzzles rely on it but most of the puzzles arnt very hard.
the combat is very realistic and the AI is good, ccombine wond run into walls or jump off edges (although they do have a tendancy to hang around explosive barrels)
but HL2 is a good game overall so buy the orange box and get it.
