I own all the Heroes of Might and Magic Games In their individual boxes and also as a large box set edition which unfortunately isn't available for review.
As a short overview, Heroes of Might and magic is a turn based strategy game which includes themes of war and fantasy. You can play against the computer or other people on a whole range of random maps and campaign games.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is my favourite of all the games. Visually it isn't as complex as the newer versions, but the depth of game play and ease of use makes it the best in my opinion. You have the option of a campaign game or a random map. The best thing about heroes 3 that none of the other games have is the random map generator. You can choose through a number of options to help you create the perfect map for the game you want. I tend to use the random maps more than I play the campaign game. Each map differs greatly.
Heroes 4 however is quite lacking. The visuals are much clearer and brighter, and there are a number of editions which make game play easier. There are fewer types of teams to be and due to some production issues there are a LOT of glitches, some games you cannot finish, some parts of the maps do not work correctly or are inaccessible. It's a shame as it could have been a much better and improved version of heroes 3, but the production means it's playable, but number 3 is always a better go to game.
