Games for the PC for me have to be very good to keep me going until the end and this game actually manages to help me achieve this target.
The game is named Hidden Expedition Amazon and the reason as people might assume is that it is set around the Amazon yet in some ways you would never know this.
You begin by setting up your name and a profile and begin the adventure the first level is usually a level to get you into the swing of things to help you understand what you have to do and how to find the objects listed.
You are given a list of objects there might be 20 items or 15 but in the picture you have to find those items and they sometimes are misleading in many ways. If you look at the list of missing items you have to find it might say elephant and you go searching for one and it might be a picture of the animal or even a very small toy.
When you find all the items you are meant to find it is the end of the level and you move on further. You are given 3 hints to begin with at the start of each level but you can get more if you find the 5 insects on every level.
These insects could be centipedes or spiders and they are hidden all over the place under tables and on top of lights and stuff. If you find all five you're given an additional life which helps sometimes.
When you advance further into the game the levels get more difficult and it means you have to think about things more. You might have 3 scenes with each one needing 15 items to be found and it can be difficult as the pictures and items you need to find gets more demanding.
After some levels you given other objectives such as sorting out some pipes and locating feathers in a scene and these are additional puzzles but without completing them you cannot advance further.
If you click to many times in one place you get your cursor blocked for 3 seconds and there is no timer. You can take as long as you want and no penalties occur for time duration so that is a good thing in a way but I wish they did have a timer.
The graphics are fairly decent on every level and they also have plenty of objects to find and each time you start a new game the items you need to find usually change so again this helps as well because it saves you having reputation.
The game takes a few hours to finish and afterwards you want to play again and it can be addictive once you start which is good but also can tire you out as well.
The good things for me when playing was the fact it was very demanding and it was a challenge and I did enjoy playing it but for me the age range this is for is over 10 and above. The reason for this is because some items I didn't know what they were had to check Google images or assistance.
When it came to hints the game does assist you but I think the 5 insects to find to get an extra one perhaps a bit too long winded and take you priorities elsewhere in the game.
I got this game for about £3 in a sale and it was good value for money, it does not take much memory up on the computer and also it works for most versions of windows as well.
If you do not like locating missing items then this game is not for you otherwise if you do it is a good purchase and game play is very good and there is a story which I do not want to spoil but if you buy this then you have a story to follow as well which is handy.
