Advantages: Keeps you Hooked
Disadvantages: I want more.
I really enjoy this game. I have completed all of the missions a couple of times and still play the multiplayer missions against the computer.
The graphics are good and the soundtrack adds to the game. One of the differences about this game is it is played in 3D, you need to worry about positioning your ships in a 3D environment. It takes a bit of getting used to, but when you get the hang of it (By doing training missions) it is a lot easier.
It is similar to command and conquer but set in space, your people were evicted from their home planet three thousand years ago, your people develop hyperdrive technology, while you are testing this new technology your planet is attacked, only a few people survive because they are in orbit around the planet. This game is the fight back to your homeworld that was taken from you so long ago. You have plenty of bad guys to fight on your way back, and you make some friend too.
There are about 17 missions to be completed some are very easy and some are extremely difficult, this game kept me awake many nights, once I started playing I couldn’t go to bed because I had to find out what happened next.
The multi player missions are fun, you can play against up to 7 other players, on a network or over the internet, or against computer players, sometimes they fight against each other, some times they gang up on you, but It is great fun picking of the weakest and building yourself up for the fight against the stronger ones.
The only thing that I found frustrating about this game was the intelligence of the ships. Sometimes they just did not want to do what you told them to, you could send in a fleet of ships to pick someone off then go off to do something else and come back to find half your ships destroyed because they decided to sit there and take a beating. When I got used to this I just made sure I watched them when they were in danger.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game,
I like games of this type anyway, and I own all the Command and Conquer games. I think they could do more with it though; I look forward to Homeworld Cataclysm.
