[REWRITTEN] Released in March 2001 Hostile Waters immediately won many fans. Unlike alot of recont new games Hostile Waters really feels like the finshed product and not some rushed release to get the makers some money. Where to start is the question. One of the games strongest points is its depth of gameplay, its not only one of the most entertaining and adrenalin pumping games of last year, but it is also a game that is challenging mentally too. It’s difficult to be all things for all people. As anyone who has attempted to transform themselves into a dancefloor guru after seven pints would attest to, and usually ends up in misery for all concerned – not least the people who have to suffer your drunken thrashing and flailing. Hostile Waters is an almost unique type of game. It crosses the strategy elements of say, Starcraft, with the relentless action of a tank simulator or helicopter sim. The only other games that I can think of that do something similar were both Battlezone games. While the first Battlezone game in particular was a good game, Hostile is much, much better. The premise is like this: You control a single, giant carrier.
