amazing scenery good story very playable

I bought Avatar for PC a couple of years ago for about £8 online. The price has dropped since it was released ( just before the actual film ) and maybe even cheaper. No one has reviewed this for PC so I thought I would.

I loved the scenery in the film , and when I saw a clip on you tube of the graphics I bought it just for that. The landscapes and jungles etc with tropical type plants look stunning on a good monitor, and I spent a lot of time just wandering around relaxing ! But the viper wolves are soon after you while you are on a mission and you have to keep killing them, and bigger creatures.

      - Possible Plot spoiler alert -
You start off as an RDA known as Able Ryder who goes to Pandora, to go undercover as an Avatar. There comes a critical point in the game when you have to decide whether to disobey orders from your boss Commander Falco or kill Dr Rene Harper ( the mole ). If you kill Harper of course and follow orders you go on a specific course for the rest of the game - to avoid this you have to kill Commander Falco and remain as an Avatar and help them defend against the RDA( humans ).
      ____

I mostly chose to stay as an avatar, you get a good range of weapons and defence systems for both roles. Mostly for Avatar you have a crossbow club and bow and arrows which increase in strength as you complete missions. Your armour bulks up and increases also.
The weapons for na vi are machine guns flame thrower and nail gun which you reload and ammo stops. You get points for killing everything including plants as a navi but you do not get points for killing plants as an RDA.

There is also another game called conquest that is a scaled down version of the whole war that you can play at any of the GMI for RDA ( human) or tree of vision locations. They are where you teleport from one area to another or play conquest.

A great example of what makes this game special is the missions where you have to collect 3 shards from the willow trees in I think the needles area. You have to walk around in the water listening to the harmonics as they get louder and almost feel where these shards are as you move around, I found it very relaxing.

One last point - as this is for PC you need a good pc with at least 4 gb ram maybe triple core processor, my laptop can play this on half full graphics and it is a bit laggy. My old PC played it no problems, it is a big game for laptops or old pc's.
