Basically, you have the ability to make your lemmings climb, parachute, block other ... more  ... lemmings, blow up, dig down, dig diagonally, dig across and build bridges, and you must make them co-operate to reach their goal. The levels are variable in size from tiny to several screens long, and they are packed with ways to make your lemmings' lives difficult short. Gamelength wise, Lemmings can not be faulted. Super Play made a good point about puzzle games. If you want to make a new beat 'em up or racing game etc, just dump loads of courses/vehicles/characters in the game, and there you go; a new game. But with puzzle games you can't do that. You have to come up with a new idea. Even the most blatant Tetris rip off will be different in a few ways: Wario's Woods had the gimmick of a character doing the block arranging, and you had to line up groups of 3 or more with a bomb to 'detonate' the line, opposed to a horizontal line, for example.
