Ah, Madden. What better excuse to lock myself away in a room and indulge in a passtime that no-one in the UK understands? For years the best NFL-sim going, by a lengthy margin, so the question really is, do you need to upgrade? Obviously one of the main reasons to get '08 is the fact that the teams are up-to-date, with all the rookies. The game engine looks very similar to '07 (and '06, etc) if slightly shinier. The controls are subtly tweaked, but nothing very major. And... that's about it. The console versions (PS3, X360) have great new graphical engines, but this hasn't made it onto the PC version. As ever, then, this remains the only serious NFL ...
