Advantages: Simplistic controls
Disadvantages: Must have a good graphics card
Help! I've gone back in time to when games were actually challenging! Just kidding, but playing MDK2 just might make you think that you had been sucked back to the days when Contra and Mega Man were still the hottest games around. I'm an old school gamer, and seeing a game like MDK2 is really refreshing and nostalgic. It's a difficult game, and if you don't like being frustrated with a game (in other words, if you're a baby), then you shouldn't buy this game. Not yet anyway. I'm just saying that you should borrow it from a friend or find some other way of playing it without buying it, until you actually get a feel for the game. But, like I said, I'm an old school gamer, and MDK2 is just what I've been waiting for. A game that takes me back to when the only controls were the Control Pad, the Start and Select buttons, and the A and B buttons. When you had to fight your way through a million bad guys to face huge, difficult bosses that shot flames and stuff at you. That's exactly what MDK2 is. The graphics are the best I've ever seen. The gameplay is engrossing and the puzzles are superbly done. The controls are great and the storyline is hilarious. The sound is beautiful and the bad guys are fun to watch and to kill. And most of all, the three heros are awesome. Kurt, as always, is the man and his sniper helmet kicks ###. Dr. Hawkins is really funny, and his inventions are fun. Something about him makes him hilarious. What is it that makes me laugh my head off when Hawkins insults an alien scientists thesis? I don't know, and really, I don't care. Max meanwhile is really, really, REALLY cool. I love busting into an alien bar and blowing away everything in sight with my four gatling gun arms. His jetpacks are excellent additions to the game. Anyone that loves a challenge will love MDK2.
