Advantages: graphics, sound, playability, variablility, speed
Disadvantages: some may prefer more taxing problems
In MDK 2 you control 3 characters and help them save the earth - Kurt (the character from MDK) Dr. Hawkins (who helped Kurt), and Max the 6 armed dog built by the good Dr. This is fast and furious puzzle solving at its best. None of the puzzles are that hard, but this also means that you don't end up in the situation where you are wandering about trying to work out what to do. You have to play in different styles with the different characters, Kurt is best at long range especially with his Sniper scope. Max is armed to the teeth with up to 6 guns at once, and the Dr uses more cunning ploys to beat his enemies. The graphics are superb and fluid, and the 3D sound and music adds incredibly to the experience. There is one point where Kurt has to jump across these platforms with nothing underneath, and I started to get scared of heights for him, with the wind blowing all around! In short an excellent and highly playable game though some may prefer more taxing problems

- 26/01/01 I tried out this game, but got stuck as soon as that trigger-happy dog came into play. As far as I'm concerned, they could have stuck with just Kurt, and make the game more challenging from his perspective. I think they've fixed a non-broken wheel with this one...
For the rest, I agree. |
