MDK - "Another shooter?" I thought. "I hope this one has a least a couple of new things".
Yow! The graphics are a cut above almost any game I've seen of this type. The game is similar to a 1st person shooter, although it is 3rd person, with the game view just behind the main character. And the best new feature: Sniper. Press the space bar, and your view changes to a targeting, 1st person view which can zoom in and out. You can use this view (and a variety of weapons) to target specific targets, check out what's up ahead, and generally cause havoc and mayhem. I love it!

Now, the game is not without flaws. In the demo (which is a little small, it doesn't take much time to complete), the sniper view is used as a way to solve puzzles. At one point, a glass wall bars your way, and you have to pick off enemies on the top of towers on the far side. Sounds ok so far, right? But the enemies have small shield you have to hit, and the shields have bright bullseyes painted on them. Bulleyes?? Are these just really stupid aliens? Maybe it's just me, but I don't need that level of clue to tell me what to shoot at.

Still, this game is amazing. Get it. Right now.
