Worth an investigation, don't expect to spend weeks on it.

Moon Tycoon is a rather fun game to be playing and indeed for it's age it was a rather fascinating little bugger. The premise behind it is of course, building and excelling in a lunar colony without everybody running out of oxygen or noticing that you had to eradicate their homes to make room for that fancy new building!

The game has a rather steep learning curve at first, if you aren't quite familiar with the tycoon game series and dived headfirst into this one, expect to see a few colonies hit walls, and not make it. Resource management was the most difficult for me personally to really learn how to work.

The campaign missions are rather tough, and due to really bad graphics by today's standard you'd be hardpressed to force yourself to finish the game. I know I know people are all "don't pay attention to the graphics if it's a good game!" but I assure you, there are limits to this quote.

A neat way to kill a couple weekends, but don't expect anything long term with it!

One of the better 'Tycoon' games of the period, plenty to keep you amused.

There is probably a 'Tycoon' game out there for nearly every profession in existance, and several professions that might have just been made up to allow the existance of a 'Tycoon' game, this one however is genuinely quite good fun and the name rhymes, what more could you ask for?

Following many of the standard practices of 'Tycoon' games you must build, maintain and develop a base on the moon. This game was quite unique at the time of relase amongst other Simuation games for being one of the first to feature full 3D graphics, this is pulled off fairly well, however the special effects and particle systems (such as they are) border on ugly and have not aged well.

The game features 3 increasingly difficult campaigns of ten missions each, forming part of a larger story and are played in sequence, the game also has a fun sandbox mode where you can build the moon base of your dreams without conforming to any set mission objectives. There si a good array of buildings and facilities to build, each with their own positive and negative effects and with nearly 20 different possible 'disasters' to contend with you are sure to have your hands full.

Moon Tycoon is a Moon colonisation sim in which you can populate the Earth's satellite to your heart's content. Players will have the opportunity to have total control of all aspects of colony life, from building construction to commerce, colony morale and monthly expenses. In the midst of so much recent success, dark times are suddenly upon the Space Agency. Moonquakes have begun devastating many of the lunar colonies. A Colony was completed wiped out by a single moonquake and you have been summoned to aid the colonists at Colony 2 and rebuild the Moon colony to its former glory. There are three campaigns and 30 challenging missions while complete camera freedom gives you a fully immersive 3-D environment. There are over 60 buildings at your disposal from lunar golf courses to biospheres, four customisable industries and 16 disasters that can befall your fledgling colony from meteor showers to moonquakes.
