Great fun game that is an improvement on previous ventures

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is a decent game for the PC. However, I find it does not run very well on my XPS with a 512MB NVidia Graphics card (more the fault of my system rather than the game). That said, it does run fine on an i3 system with inbuilt HD graphics!

However, when it does run well, it looks slick. The graphics are fantastic, with sharp lines, great reflections in teh rainwater, noticebaly different and "realistic" handling in different weather conditions. Please do bear in mind that when I say realistic, I mean in he confines of the game and not real life.

This game takes you back to the Need for Speed roots witThe cop mission can be fun and also extremely frustrating, as the slightest crash or knock into a wall and you lose time in time trials, or the slightest miscalculation and you end up ramming the target and ending up stuck against a wall. There is teh introduction os weapons for both racers and cops, like EMP bursts/roadblocks/helicopters and spike strips. Nitro is also easy to gain and the old favourite shortcuts are back, with a strategic element of low riders not handling so well on dirt track cut throughs and even some alleged shortcuts actually being longer!

Overall, I enjoyed this game. Despite its faults, it is a welcome improvement on some of the more recent NFS productions.
