Advantages: Easy game play
Disadvantages: Limitations on defense
When it comes to American Football games NFL Fever have always been the poor relations to the Maddon franchise however this is a great game to play on the PC even if the menu options can be a bit cumbersome.
What I do like is that fact that the passing options are made really easy for you, once the ball is snapped it is easy to select the receiver you want to target, before the snap you can select the routes that they will take and whether there is an option route available or not, I find that the receivers end to stick to these routes and often the hot route for that play will be highlighted should you decide to go for that option.
Running plays are also just as easy to select and there are plenty of moves that you can use after the snap has been made and the bal is in your possession.
The onl down side to this game is on the defense, I find that you do not get long to select your defensive play especially if up against the computer and if you are too slow a default line up is selected, I also fnd that it is not very responsive switching players after the snap if it is a passing play ad find myself playing a rather passive approach leaving it up to the AI of the system to play for me at least until the ball is caught.
Overall the AI has been improved over previous versions however there are stll some strange running routes selected by defenders who actually move away from the ball rather than towards it.
In summary this is a good game but there are much better later versions to be played.
Summary: NFL game
