... of the little affects are great to. After playing against my uncle for about 4 hours i gave the 1 player tournaments a bit of my time and they are also good they are challenging and most teams have different ways of playing which gives you a extra challenge unlike the fifa series when you play a team you need to be clever with your plays. The overall game is excellent and if you see it pick it up i believe it's in the bargain section now. you don't even need to like hockey just giving your wee brother a h...more

Premium Review NHL 2001 (PC): Fastest game on Earth... (520 words)

It's an other year already and an other of the NHL series. This time, it's more than just adding tiny details that no one even notices. NHL 2001 is more realistic than all of the previous NHL games rolled in one. The graphics are exceptionally good. Even without a 3D card, I can have good on-play details. It is important to have a fast processor though. As usual, NHL is difficult to get used to at first. It's a very fast game and it takes practise to get the control buttons right and make your player do what you intended him to do! Its yet another sequel from EA (is that all these guys release?), and yet another improvement on the previous game. However, the same applies with all the EA sequels, there?s not enough in this game to warrant a purchase if you already have NHL 2000. If you don?t then that?s a different kettle of fish! The players are detailed and clear, while the ice and the reflections are mind-blowing in terms of the realism. If you have a high end 3D graphics card, then this is ...

Well, over the years the folks at EA have heard probably millions of gripes about how easy it is to score on breakaways in the NHL series. From playing about 40 games of NHL 2k1, they fixed that problem. When i first got this game, i pretty much expected it to be in the dumps, since NHL 2000 sucked. The demo sucked too, it was as if players were fed steriods intravenously in that game. Interface, it's pretty slick, pretty much the same as previous years, although it'd be nice to display all the players on your teams attributes on one screen, but that's asking too much. Modes, the usual, nothing added. You can create your own jerseys now, but thats ...
