The power of the LithTech 2.5 engine is coupled with an advanced artificial intelligence system which makes your enemies respond to audio and visual stimuli such as weapon fire, footprints in snow, footsteps and even the dead bodies of their evil chums. Likewise, in a gun fight, the enemy will hunt out cover before returning fire or try and gain an advantage by seeking out higher ground. It's by...more

Crowned Review No One Lives Forever (PC): She Had Me At 20 Paces (2242 words)

~ Introduction ~ Every once in a while a game comes along that totally changes the computer gaming world. That game is... Max Payne! Then there are games like this. No One Lives Forever (NOLF from now on) is one of those games that deserves to be huge, but either go by unnoticed or is released at a time when another game takes all the limelight. It's a huge shame really, NOLF is one of the most refreshing games I've played in recent years and yet it can now be found for just £15 online & in some shops... or is that the problem? It's still only you against the world, but this time it's all done in a tongue-in-cheek manner, in a style very similar to the Austin Powers series of movies. As Cate Archer, you work for an organisation ...

No One Lives Forever (PC): Very stylish but very flawed (619 words)

I'd heard so much about this game, and read some great reviews, some average reviews and many poor reviews. Putting that aside, I'm a big FPS fan and having just bought my own PC have started buying all the FPS games I can find! With some classics like Quake II and Half-Life in my collection, NOLF had a lot to live up to... Starting off, the presentation was impeccable. I really liked the kitsch 60's style lounge music, and you get a bonus album of this music on the second game disc. The game itself is very colourful, very well presented and is firmly tongue-in-cheek. The game engine is Monolith Lithtech 2.5 and I wasn't ...
