... subjected to endless droves of boring dialogue, as well as clipping that has your character floating in mid air. When the action does finally kick off, it's about as exciting and easy to control as a Robin Reliant, and just to add insult to injury, your hard as nails action hero runs like a 10 year old girl. To its credit, the game is preety long (with 6 various continents to explore), has plenty of exotic weapons and gadgets, and you need to use stealth and tactics as well as violence. Premium Review Outcast (PC): You will love it or hate it (294 words)

Outcast for the PC Its difficult to categorize this game and it seems as though the French designers have carved out a whole new genre. This can lead to the game being a Jack-of-all-trades. The shooting is handled quite well, however once you get some of the more substantial weapons you can be confident in coming out on top after all skirmishes you decide to get yourself in to. A large problem with this game is getting lost, especially in the region of Talanzaar – this is made even worse if you don’t play the game for a while. I found myself having to scrawl maps on Post-it notes in order to remember where that damn recreator is. The puzzle aspect of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Outcast is an Outcast (102 words)

Yes outcast is a really poor game. Th vovell based engine really does fail to impress and its story line is about as interest as the gladiator(very poor). The graphics look bad even on a high end PC with a 3D card and everything! It has an extemly samll lifesapn for me it was about 5 minutes. The game had had a lot of hype and I was very surprised just how bad it was. Don't buy this game if you can help it but if you do like RGP/Shooters and have more money than senes you can get it. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Outcast (PC): This could possible be an "outcast" (322 words)

Outcast is a game like no other. A role-playing game set in a breath-taking 3D world it is as frustrating and annoying as it is awe-inspiring. You play the role of Cutter Slade, a tough-as-nails marine pitched headlong into an alien world. For some bizarre reason the natives (who look like a cross between ET and a vacuum cleaner) all seem to think you are the Messiah. Hey - I’m not arguing. In creating their world, Infogrames, the designers, took several key decisions. The first one was to flood you with a barrage of random made-up words. You are the Ulukai who has just landed in Ranzaar. You job is to find the mystical Mons, and in order to do this you must ...  Read the complete review

Well, first of all my applauds to the creators "Appeal". The game is one of the best games I have played in a long time.As the character Cutter Slade, you become entangled in the world of Adelpha, making friends and foes alike. You are able to interact with a array of different characters. Listen to them and remember to read the notes as you make contact with the inhabbitants of Adelpha. The contols are a bit tricky at first but as you play it almost becomes second nature. The graphics are nice to look at ,,,but some of the characters are a bit washed out and are at times blocky. As you get deeper into the game you start to see that killing the bad guys also ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Outcast (PC): A bit odd, but good. (213 words)
by - written on 20/11/00 (Very useful, 83 readings)
Rating:

This is an odd game. You play Cutter Slade, trapped in another dimension, on the search for a missing probe. The world is populated by strange creatures, who magically speak english (sort of), and they agree to help you find your probe if you help them find some sacred objects called 'Mon'. The game uses a voxel based graphics engine which is really showing its age. The sound is average, too. However, this game really gives the player a level of freedom like no other. You can do almost anything, go almost anywhere, and talk to whoever you please. The drawback of this? The game is tough. It's hard to figure out what to do, and this is made ...  Read the complete review
