My eldest (6) is wary of the dark, we haven't made a big thing of it, but its there. Enter Pajama Sam !

A Junior Adventure game by Humongous Entertainment about a kid that wants to beat his fear of darkness. His mission is to find all his odd socks (he can come round here anytime!) and his lunchbox, torch, superhero mask and comic in the land of darkness.

A giant tree house is where the fun begins, underground river caverns, sunken mines and the doors of knowlege are just some the areas of interaction. Each area has its own games to play, and problems to solve as in most Humongous games. Sam makes friends with various characters that help him with his task. He has to prove to Otto the boat that wood floats so he can get across the river with Ottos help, and King the mine car needs oiling, Sam needs King to get into the mine to solve a question set by the doors of knowledge and so the story goes on....

The bit that had my kids exercising their chuckle muscles was the mixing potions and following the spells, to make Sam burp, grow long hair and other silly but fun antics.

Logic, reading and maths are used in this game aimed at 6 - 9 year olds, we have yet to finish it, but once completed the gameplay starts all over again with new problems.
You can save the game and different users can save their different levels.

I couldn't find this game in the High Street and had to search the net. Humongous do have a online store, but I'm not a fan of buying in US $ so I bought this one from learningstore.co.uk, the price below incudes p & p.
