This was a gift so I knew nothing about the game before I installed it. It installed beautifully and ran properly, no patches needed. It is a nice way to pass some time. I have completed the game and still play it from time to time. Basically it consists of loads of picture puzzles. As you progress through the game the puzzles gradually get harder and harder, but the type of puzzles do not change. There are puzzles where you have to fit strips together to form a photo or painting, others are more jigsaw like, sometimes you have to build statues or figures. They are all easy to understand. As part of the game you travel around the world and in each city the items used for the puzzles are relevant to that area of the world. You see some amazing pieces of artwork. I liked this game for it's simplicity, it didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. the graphics were good and the music was pleasant. If you enjoy spending spare moments on a jigsaw puzzle, or filling in a crossword then this game is for you. Some of the photos are lovely. A nice thing about this game is that once completed you can start again and although the early levels are simpler, it doesn't have the repetitive feel of some other games I have tried to re-start.
If you like puzzle games you will love Pandoras Box. Its quite an easy game to play and understand, but the puzzles can be very hard. The basic idea behind this game is to complete all the puzzles and close pandoras box again trapping all the seven tricksters that escaped back inside it again. You have puzzles to complete such as the outside pattern of an eygptian urn, or put the pieces of a golden apple back together again and you are timed on each puzzle. If you are any good at becoming involved in puzzles and travelling country to country then you will adore this game and quickly lose track of time and find you have been playing for hours. There is also quite an varied style of music playing in the background of the game, the style changes from location to location, if you are in Egypt you get eyptian style music, if you then complete all the puzzles and move to Paris for example, you would get, yes you've guessed it French accordian style music. I bought this game from an online-store so prices vary but i paid £16.99 for it. The graphics themselves are excellent but you would expect that with a Microsoft game once you have completed the puzzle you can also view the completed picture or object. In my opinion for all those people who love jigsaw puzzles and rubicks cubes this is definately a game you wouldn't want to miss.
