Advantages: Wider range of workers, more attractive buildings

Disadvantages: No new gameplay

I purchased the original Pharaoh and was very pleased with it so when this expansion pack was released the decision whether or not to purchase it was a no brainer.

Cleopatra unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. The soundtrack seems pretty much identical to that of Pharaoh, the gameplay is also almost identical. There are new workers in the game and new monuments but there's certainly nothing new which adds to the gameplay or even could have taken some thought from the developers.

If you don't mind playing more of the same then you'll enjoy it but if you're looking for more than what you were given in Pharaoh you won't find it here. It's a missed opportunity by the developers in my opinion. The only major difference is that Cleopatra is more difficult than Pharaoh thus it takes a lot longer to complete. I'd stick with Pharaoh if I was you, the expansion pack just isn't worth it.

Summary: If you want more of the same then buy it, if you want something a little different don't bother
