The awkwardly named Project IGI: I'm Going It follows in the trend of the Rainbow Six series, the Delta Force series, and SWAT 3. It eschews the outlandish futuristic weapons and imaginary settings of many traditional shooters and focuses instead on contemporary realism. In the game, you play as David Llewelyn Jones, a former Special Air Service member who now works as a freelance operative for both the British and American governments. The game features a blend of stealth, covert surveillance, and high-powered firefights at secret military bases, and it has much of the thrill and daring of the James Bond films of the late Cold War era. But it also has several ... Read the complete review

Set in Russia, you must perform a black ops mission to return a stolen nuclear weapon to the US, preventing a small armageddon. The physics engine is incredibly good. Not the average FPS engine. Then again, it isn't. Interloop have used a heavily modified flight sim engine in order for large rolling landscapes to become a reality in an FPS. It can tell the difference between wood and concrete, with bullets shredding the former and being halted by the latter. Cover isn't just as easy as ducking behind a wooden crate anymore. You need to strategically know your surroundings, something which is aided immensely by a couple of ingame additions. ... Read the complete review

In Project:IGI (known from now on as IGI) you play David Llewellyn Jones, an ex-SAS officer recruited by an anonymous American (I assume) counter-terrorist organisation to retrieve a stolen American nuclear warhead from what appears to be a Russian crime syndicate headed by members of the Pribori family. Jones is aided on this mission by Anya, an agent of the counter terrorist force who supplies him with mission updates and information. The first mission requires you to infiltrate a small military base and steal some transport to get you to the next mission area (you only have to get to the transport, you don’t have to drive it to the next point). ... Project IGI stands for, Project: I’m Going In. Game play The first thing that strikes me about this game is the fact that it is like the actual James Bond films (the more recent ones anyway), in fact it amazes me how the James Bond games that are only allowed on Nintendo are so unalike the James Bond films. You play a British (Hurray!!) character called David Jones who is an ex SAS soldier, you have to think your way in and shoot your way out (quite literally as well). The game is set in Soviet Russia in a time of corruption and blackmail. You are given missions by an American woman, just like M in James Bond. She briefs you on what you have ... Played all the other FPS/RPG games?, well now there’s a new kid on the block from Eidos! Project I.G.I is a fantastic FPS/RPG, which will have you, amazed at its graphics, sounds & animations. The AI for the Bad Guys is also a step ahead of the rest & I personally think it puts Half-Life to shame! Just for a change, the hero’s British…well okay….Welsh to be exact, but he still gets the job done each time. What’s so great about the game, minus the graphics, sound & the likes…well, it’s a very different type of FPS because you have to sneak around the various levels trying not to be detected by the enemy or security cameras. ...
