If Carlsberg made games they would probably be the best games in the world, and this would probably be one of there games !
Quake III Arena is without doubt the finest 1st person shooter still available on the PC, i've been playin' this game for almost 2 years now and i'm still not fed up with it !

How much more fun could you have ? I mean, it's a fragfest with the added bonus of team play, the rules are simple, kill 'em all with the aid of your team mates, wheather computer generated or played on line against some serious world class opponents !

Anyone who is familiar with quake will know the genre and the style of gaming, (anyone who isn't has been living under a virtual rock), there are extra weapons from the original quake III including the Nail Gun and Proxy Mine launcher !
The biggest difference is the team aspect, there are icons which can be collected which give the player a special ability until such time as they are fragged. These icons are, Speed, Doubler, Gaurd & Ammo Regeneration. Each icon gives a player a chance to use different tactics in order to assault the enemy base or simply protect what is yours.

The maps are awesome if not a bit limited after a while but still have mass appeal even after 2 years of playin' on 'em.
The styles of game play are well thought out, with Capture The Flag being the most fun, and the most frustrating !

If you are a serious 1st person shooter fan and you don't actually own this game, then get out there & buy it ! (you need the original QIII disk to install it), you won't be dissapointed, not for the measly budget price that is now being asked for it !
