Vulcan - Back to the Cold War!

I bought this as an addition to Flight Simulator 2004, and I'm pretty glad I did. This add-on not only adds aircraft, but also locations.

First, it adds a variety of Avro Vulcan aircraft to your flight sim. I won't list the tail numbers, but you basically get a choice of liveries; basically, all over camoflage, 'top-only' camoflage and 'anti-flash' white (the one that carried the country's nuclear deterrent). Visually, these are great. Everything looks to be pretty accurate. The internal views look very good; you may find it hard to fly from there as you're field of vision is limited (as it is in the actual aircraft!). The bomb bay dorrs open (which is a nice touch), you get that characteristic black smoke trail when you put full power on, and there's also an parachute that deploy to aid braking on the runway! Visually, very good.

As for locations, you get RAF Waddington added to your flight sim. This is the 1960's version, with Vulcan aircraft on the dispatch pads. This looks pretty good. Just don't take too close a look; the vehicles moving about may look a little poor quality. But having an authentic RAF station on your flight sim add that extra level of realism to your experience.

Oh, and there is a paint scheme editor. This allows you to make up a paint scheme for your a Vulcan; so you can have your own personal Vulcan! However, this is a little tricky, but your patience will be rewarded!

Beware: make sure you have enough space for this, as it can cause the game to run slowly.

Overall, a great addition to flight sim for any enthusiast. Especiialy for those historic aircraft fans!
