I played Transport Tycoon deluxe a lot, and after enjoying that game immensely, i decided to get Railroad Tycoon 2 (RT2).

The basic aim is to build track and move cargoes. You build two stations, one producing a cargo, another accepting it and then you connect them. buy and engines and wagons and you're ready to roll.

RT2 has loads of engines and cargoes to tranposrt and the track looks quite good. The graphics are good too. However it's not very realistic and the stations are rubbish, but you don't buy video games for realism, do you?

It's fun and once you've started, hours can be spent playing before you notice the time. However, just like transport tycoon, after a few games it become very easy to achieve domination and take over your competitors. Doing this and controlling all the companies is actually counter productive and means the game lacks fun.

All in all, it's a very good game, and i whole heartedly recommend it.
