For me this game was just ideal because I have a passion for trains and love the tycoon series of games! I really liked the objective of this game which is to create your own railraod company and also manage it, which is the hard part! The controls are brilliant and really simple making it ideal for the gameplay. You build your own railraod ... Read the complete review

The lay out of the game reminds me of Caesar III. The way in which you play the game is very similar to Caesar III in that you start out with a certain amount of money to build your empire. Except you are building a railroad empire instead of a city-state empire. I found the games interface to be very well laid out and easy to use. The ... Read the complete review

Railroad Tycoon was one of the great strategy-simulations of the early years of sophisticated PC games. Your first thoughts about this game would be NO WAY. Why would i want to build a railway and watch my trains going from chicago to texas for an hour just to end up bankrupt. Well these were my thoughts anyway, but your thoughts about the game change slightly when you load the game. The maps are amazing the attention to detail is superb and far ... This is an epic empire-building toyset, where you get the chance to become a Robber Baron of the rail system, setting up your own company, establishing a network, scheduling routes, and ferrying passengers and industrial goods between towns in pursuit of the almighty dollar. The game is divided into three lengthy chapters, the first covering the ... Read the complete review

Railroad Tycoon 2 is a big improvement on the original. This is not too difficult to achieve in terms of graphics, because the original was invented when anyone with a 386 processor knew they had the best system around. However, it is amazingly difficult to beat in terms of game play. Chris Sawyer tried his hand at it and produced another (now ... Read the complete review

At first glance you might think this game looks a bit boring because all you see are trains running up and down a map. But once you play the game you can see the options available to you. This is my favourite type of game. Ones where you have to make MONEY!!! What I really love about this game is the ability to control and create your ... Read the complete review
