Advantages: Cool setting, long campaign

Disadvantages: Autopatcher bug means you might not be able to play multiplayer.

Rise of Legends takes place in a world that can be best described by the factions in it, There is the Vinci who resemble early 19th century heroes mixed whit steampunk technology. The Alin: masters of magic who use many magic creatures made of glass or fire to fight besides their human warriors, and the Cuotl, an Aztec like group of people whit many creatures made from alien devices which crashed in their jungle long ago and of which some are worshipped as gods.

In the Campaign you must help a young vinci noble to crush an enemy responsible for the death of your brother, this campaign will take you across the lands of all factions and shows a lot of the world of rise of legends, this provides you whit a lot of inspiration.

The Game play is a lot like the previous Rise of Nations but the fantasy environment makes for some pretty interesting maps as giant walls of jagged glass and huge canyons were a little out of place in rise of nations.

There is an automatic updating system which fails to function in roughly half the cases making multi player impossible, Microsoft has failed to fix this and are unable to make a download able patch to fix it.

While the game play and campaign are pleasant the updater bug and The consequent impossibility of multi player makes this game a gamble to buy

Summary: While it is an interesting game the cripling updater bug does not warant a high rating.
