Advantages: Cost effective way of buying an excellent game

Disadvantages: Designing coasters is tricky - there's an art to it!

This is the last installment of the popular rollercoaster tycoon series, and it is by far the best; the big difference being that the game is now in 3D and you can 'ride' your new creations.


There are two expansion packs for the game, and this edition includes them both: 'soaked' which adds the capacity to build pool complexes and waterslides, and 'wild' which introduces animal parks. In addition both introduce new rollercoasters and flat rides for you to place in your parks. They do add an extra dimension to the game, although if you have the expansion packs available from the start they inadvertantly make the earlier scenarios easier to complete; rides, particularly shops and coasters, as well as amenities such as pools, become available when they were not designed to be.

The game itself finishes what Theme Park started all those moons ago. It is a 'sim' type game where you build a park, often from scratch but sometimes from a barebones park, and hit targets for each scenario usually by making money, attracting visitors, increasing the park's rating or by having certain rollercoasters. To a certain extent you either like this kind of game or loathe it; I love them!

It is a good value, fun game with all kinds of extra features such as adding your own music to a ride or creating your own 'guest's to visit the park.

Summary: I really love this game - if you like sim games or rollercoasters so will you.
