Advantages: addictive, fun, they thought of everything!

Disadvantages: frustrating at times, ...thats it

I have been a bit of a theme park friek since my first trip to Alton towers, and my favourite game used to be theme park. When rollercoater tycoon came out, having heard it was amazing from various games magazines, i baught it immediately, with out a second thaught. It soon became the most addictive game i had ever played.

Rollercoaster tycoon is a game where you build your own theme parks. You start off on a very simple level, with just green land, and a limited ranhge of rides, but the levels get trickier. You complete the level, and move onto the next, as soon as you have reached your given target, in a given amount of time, e.g. Something like "you must have at least 700 guests in your park, with a park rating of at least 600 by the end of october, year 2"

Here are the reasons why rollercoaster tycoon is so much better than theme park.

1) The graphics are superb, you can view things in so many ways e.g. you can see the park from 4 different angles and zooms. There are many other extra, visual features e.g. you can have underground /underwater vision, or see-through ride supports vision (so you can see what is behind)

2) Every little thing you do in your park makes a difference, and you have to plan out your park strategy well, to get high ratings e.g. Vandalism can be a problem, so hire security guards, andyou should situate information cioscs in the right places otherwise people get lost, or wet! Also, you have to make your rides with a certain balance of intensity i.e. not to intense, but not too boring, or people will not go on them.

3) There are countless different options and sound features included in it
I cant desvribe them all, but there are so many possibilities, which are so easy to adapt too.

4) My personal favourite advantage of the game, - the way you can build your rollercoasters! If there is something you would like to do to a rollercoaster, you can do it!You can make rolle
rcosters hanging, with all sorts of different types of car, going underground, with a watersplash, photo section, corkscrews, loops, etc. Making entertaining rollercoasters or water rides, is the most fun thing about the game, as well as generally seeing how the people react, and what they think of your park. of which there are about 20 different types, all with different features!

Rollercoaster tycoon is a superbly designed game, which is easy to adapt to, and you cant stop getting good at it, and even once you've completed the game, its still fun to make new parks. If design is your thing, this is the game for you!
