When I heard EA were to release a rugby game I was very sceptical, I mean, rugby is hardly the same kind of free flowing sports as they usually produce, and the FIFA control system hardly lends itself to rugby. Basically, I thought this game was destined to be a nightmare to play and a complete shocker overall! However, when I managed to play the game for myself, all my fears vanished, because what a game this is! Graphically, its all you could want, looking lovely the animation and graphical detail is superb, all you nothing less than a top visual game. Commentary is provided by the well known Bill McLaren and Jamie Salmon, which even if you don't recognise ... Read the complete review

I brought Rugby 2001 two weeks ago and I think this is the best Rugby game out yet! It has all the major teams that compete in the World Cup and more! Unfortunately the game doesn’t have league team but it really doesn’t matter as the game play just blows you away! Each team have there strengths and the weaknesses and obviously (if you follow Rugby) the New Zealanders just kick butt! But the game is so realistic, teams like Australia and South Africa stand up to them and teams like Fiji and Namibia just don’t have a chance. There are 20 teams in the game that compete in the world cup and every single player who played in the last world cup ... Read the complete review

Being Welsh one of my many interests is Rugby. Having now retired from playing the game then whats the next best thing, this is. I ahd Jonah Lumu when it came out for the Playstaion but found it hard to play this game takes this all away. You have commentry from Bill McLaren and Jamie Salmon which gives a very authentic touch. The teams are all up to date with plety of video footage. The controls are much easier than Jonah Lumu and I can actually pass and score a try - unusual for a welshman I know! You can actualy play the world cup or just play friendlies. The graphics are good with excellent lighting, and the impacts of tackles etc comes across very well. If its ... Read the complete review

Its been a long time waiting for a decent rugby game but at last its here. After the (surprise) success of Jonah Lomu Rugby which focuses on the 1995 world cup we have all, at some stage got bored with it and wanted something else. Now its here. It is fast, graphically-stunning and immensely playable. I have not been able to put it down since I got it a fortnight ago. You can go any off the top teams and some less well know teams like Japan and USA. There are many desicions that have to be made which require a lot keys which spoils it a little but is probably unaviodable. You have more control over scrums and lineouts, can kick further and more easily out of ... Read the complete review

One day I was going down to my local virgin store and looking arround the various catogories of Cd's when my eye fell upon a certain rugby 2001, little did I know that I would be holed up in front of the computer for the next month playing on this fantastic game. This game is by far the best rugby game in circulation(It's only real competitor being Jona Lomu Rugby!!!). This game is a fantastic new revelation in the world of sporting games a one off a brainstorm. Thegame itself is so perfectly tuned and set up that each bits of it complement each other. The game is very well thought out to the in game menu right to the playing of the game. You ... Read the complete review
