Besides this it a long game with many twist and turns where you have to find out who you are and how you can get back to reality without loosing your mind, graphically this hasnt dated well but with a great story to go though it doesnt really matter, cut scenes are the highlights and really build on the atmosphere of the game, the music also is quite satisfactury and builds the tension up although it will never be on par with Silent Hill which makes a more affective use of sound. Premium Review Sanitarium (PC): Mad For It! (433 words)

In Sanitarium you play a man swathed in bandages following a road accident which has left you battered and bruised and with almost complete memory loss. Your first task is the escape this horrible place and then to discover what happened, who you are etc. to basically piece together your life as your mind fights against its own demons and slowly feels as if it is itself unravelling. The game plays across 8 ‘chapters’, taking part in such areas as the aforementioned asylum where you begin, an adultless farming community, an island of freaks and a ummm beehive(dont ask) to name just some of them. On your journey you’ll come across different ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sanitarium (help! I'm Losing My Mind!) - PC Games (665 words)
by - written on 17/06/00 (Very useful, 183 readings)

Surrounded by babbling lunatics in some run-down asylum, your head swathed in bandages following a car crash that’s erased your memory, you struggle with your inner demons as you fight to keep a grip on reality and find out who you are and why you’ve been institutionalised. It doesn’t exactly sound like the recipe for ‘My Best Day Ever’, now does it? Prepare to be amazed, then, by Sanitarium’s hugely original (despite the rather wheezy sounding plot) and gripping adventure game. One of the reasons this game is so good, and deserves far better recognition than it has so far received, is the way you zip back and forth from ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sanitarium (PC): A twisted psychological horror point-and-click adventure? (285 words)
by - written on 11/05/09 (Very useful, 149 readings)
Rating:

Sanitarium is an intense "who-dunnit" psychological adventure thriller, in which the player controls a man trying to escape from a mental asylum, despite being unsure of who he is, or how he came to be in this situation. In order to discover his true identity, and escape his fate, he must explore the darkest recesses of his mind. This is your standard point-and-click adventure but with a hell of a dark, unpleasant and downright disturbing twist. The lead character travels to bizarre and unnerving realms where he must solve elaborate puzzles in order to attain his goal. His consciousness however, seems to fracture, as he takes agency of ...  Read the complete review

To be honest i played this game years ago and have been trying to track it down for ages!me and my brothers played it to death and the storyline is very original and very dark in places, in fact i can think of one paticular puzzle solving event that may cause offence which will turn away a few people, lets just title this the Children of the Korn puzzle, to those who have played it you know what im talking about! Besides this it a long game with many twist and turns where you have to find out who you are and how you can get back to reality without loosing your mind, graphically this hasnt dated well but with a great story to go though it doesnt really matter, cut ...  Read the complete review

It’s been a long time since I played this one so I’m gonna have to try and remember it. As I remember it – you wake up in a dingy horrible place, which turns out to be … a sanatarium. In this place there is one person acting like a chicken and another banging his head against wall. I think that it follows that way for most of the film. You have an answer to find, and some unfinished business to sort. Frightening, gross, and lots of scary little kids - EXCELLENT! Just what I needed a good spooky game. The story was great and it was pretty changy as you became different people. Not once boring. There were lots of puzzles ...  Read the complete review
