Making 'improvements' over the previous games in the series as well as adding more humour to the game, The Settlers 3 is a welcome addition to the series, though not my favourite. For anyone who hasn't played any Settlers game before, the basic idea is that you control a group of settlers (big surprise there then), focusing on city building and combat. However unlike many other empire-building series', there is far more emphasis on the building of the city than any actual combat (although combat is essential if you want to win). Requirements - The system requirements of this game are quite low, requiring a Pentium 100MHZ computer with ... Read the complete review

Listen up mere mortal! I, your God, call upon you and you alone in my time of need. We gods have been idle for too long, drinking away at the fruits of our empires. But no more; the once great empires are now crumbling slowly into ruin and therefore I need you on Earth to help me regain my wondrous power. For what am I with no followers? You must help me reunite my splintered people and save them from a lonely death. You may ask yourself 'what can I, just a humble servant, possibly do for my leader?' Well, think no more. Below, I shall tell you all you need to know; now you know why you are to do it. What you are to do and how is explained ... Read the complete review

Introduction ---------------- Settlers 3 is the third instalment of the popular strategy game from Bluesoft. It has sold well over a million copies now and it is clear to see why as I will explain. Like the other Settlers games, Settlers 3 is a strategy game where basically you play God. You control a tribe that is coded by colour and you control what they do in the game. The idea is to grow by populating and spreading out by gaining land, thriving by building an industry and economy and also conquer the opposing teams. Where Do I Start? ---------------------- Well if you are new to this game, I would advise you to take the tutorial. In the ... Read the complete review

This is for sure my favorite game around. For a God game it may not have brilliantly advanced battle techniques or vivid graphics when it comes to battle, but games wise I love it. People may find the game a bit slow paced, because before you can even think of building a large and prosperous army you need to make sure you create a wealthy and civilised population. There is no such way to overwhelm the enemy with brute power cause every single aspect of the game is linked with another, chaining together and creating a beautiful web of society, where in order to succeed every single link is important as the other. For example, to build an army you need weapons, to ... Read the complete review

Dooyooers, My addiction to The Settlers series, started when I played The Settlers on my mates Amiga, sad I know, but at the time, the amiga was at the cutting edge of the computer revolution.
