      Very helpful

The game seems a bit rushed at times but if it is cheap then possibly worth the money

With its swanky new cover and great emphasis on how many new ships have been added to the game I must say I was eager with anticipation for the product, furthermore unlike Microsoft Flight Simulator addition packs it does not break the bank!

The product features brand new ships the highlight for me being the addition of the Isle Of Wight to Southampton high speed ferry, this is certainly a great addition and makes for a more interesting gaming experience because every ship seems to have it own unique charactor. For the more traditional ship simmer the Titanic and my favourite the New York water taxi are still as present as ever.

Iceberg Interactive and ICS deserve much credit for the fact they have been bold enough to introduce missions that take place entirly at sea rather than having some form of port or harbour involved. This allows the user to get hands on with the fierce ocean in everything from a 60 thousand tonne container ship to a small pilot boat, a superb idea and it really brings the sea to life.

Where the missions are concerned the whole range of difficulties is covered and all the ports are involved at some point. The rescue missions are highly recomended due to how realistic they seem and how much fun it is to controll a small pilot boat in the roughest conditions of th North sea!

Unfortunatly the game is flawed, hence the cheaper price than many other types of simulations no doubt. The graphics of the actual places are not fantastic, at times Southampton seems to be flat and the only thing that is visible in San Fransisco is the bridge. no city it seems! New York is just as generic as in every other Ship Simulator and it could do with some more traffic in the port, last time I checked it was quite a busy place!

Would I recommend the game? Possibly if it was a the right price but certainly dont go out of your way to buy it.

Lighthouse Interactive's Ship Simulator 2008, the much anticipated sequel to the surprise simulation hit of last year, will not only add new harbours and many new vessels, but also much desired features like open sea missions, advanced weather conditions and realistic waves. Ship Simulator is a simulation game that puts players at the helm of some of the most varied and detailed ships to be found at sea, all set within stunningly realistic 3D environments. Players can take control of a wide array of ship types, from massive cargo ships to speedboats, yachts, water taxis and even the mighty Titanic. The waters you sail are also as varied as the ships, from the biggest harbours in the world to calm aqua marine tropical waters. Perform tasks in the many pre-fab missions or just steam ahead freely.
