This game is more addictive than smoking for some people. You can say to yourself ‘oh I’ll spend half an hour on the game then I’ll do some work’ but you should do the work before you play as you will be on this game for hours on end. Some say that this game is boring but if you like being in control then you should defiantly get this game you can control practically everything from the emergencies to how much your local school gets from the budget for the year. Build cities to a massive scale. My best and successful city had a population of 1,000,000+ and took 370 years to develop the city from a small town to a massive mega city which there are very little spaces to develop any more commercial, industrial or residential zones. This is a very addictive game with lots of variables and a cheat mode.
You can view your city from different distances by using the zooming tools and there are many sensible keyboard shortcuts for the game such as the letter ‘R’ to select build a rode mode. You can also view your city from 4 different angles, N, S, E and W, meaning North, South, East and West. Again if you press “page up” or “page down” then you are taken around the map via each viewpoint. The city that you begin could be founded in a certain year as the game gives you the choice of 1900, 1950 or 2000. Different buildings and animations will accompany each time period although I have not attempted to build a city in these 2 other time periods only some cities in the 2000 period. I’ve made umpteen cities and only made 2 really profitable and successful cities but don’t let that put you off just buy the game and you can download my latest city from my website. It’s only about a 500 KB .zip file, which you need to download and place in the correct folder. JUST BUY THE GAME!!
