Star Trek Armada can only be described as a Star Trek themed Command & Conquer (C&C) look-alike in space. Anyone not familiar with Command & Conquer (the biggest selling real time war strategy ever!) it’s a mixture of fighting, attack and defence against a common enemy with construction of bases and vehicles with option of mining as a way of gaining finances. Armada isn’t any different except the action takes place in space rather than on land with a heavy dose of Star Trek spaceships and characters. The basic story line is based on the Borg’s attempts to take over the Alpha Quadrant yet again. A Federation ship, the Premonition, travels back ... Read the complete review

Star Trek Armada is a RTS like Command and Conquer however it is set in space. It follows the normal line of building up a strong base with enough resources to build your weapons of war. Resources can be gained by mining dilithium from moons or decommissioning captured star ships. The best thing is that it carries the Star Trek theme with ships and characters that all fans will know and recognise. The story line behind this game is that the Borg have yet again tried to take over the Alpha Quadrant. A ship from the future is sent to warn the Enterprise of the impending danger. Picard is told to prepare for this encounter with the Borg and to recover quickly from ... Read the complete review

Star Trek Armada goes hand in hand with Birth of the Federation in providing a game that has obviously been created by fans of Star Trek. In Armada you get to take control of all four powerful forces: The Federation, Romulan's, Borg and Klingon's in an attempt to destroy the other. In a unique twist you need to play as all four individually to win the game. As you play a Federation mission more Klingon ones become available, and so on. The amount of ships under your command is what makes Armada so great. Playing with Defiant-class, Galaxy-class and all new futuristic ones is what gets my blood pumping. The Borg are the Borg, totally ruthless ... Read the complete review

From the instant you have installed and started to play this game you are hooked. The graphics are unbelievably good and you feel part of the game. The spaceships look exactly like they do on the TV. The instalation is easy as all you do is follow onscreen instructions. The control of the game is also very easily picked up. The tactics however are up to you.The game is published by Activision who are very well known in the Game software field for their excellent quality games. The instruction book which comes with this game is very comprehensive with some very good diagrams and useful tips. I'm a sucker myself for not reading instructions since i ... Star Trek Armada has got to be the best trek game that I have played, there have been some real lemons released with the star trek name on the cover, but this has got a great combination. There are a number of missions to be completed, you play the federation, Klingons, Romulans and Borg, but you have to complete the missions in order you cant just jump in as the Borg and assimilate everything. There is also a multiplayer mode where you can play against other players over a network or on the internet, you cal also use this mode to play against the computer, you can chose which side you want to play and which side your opponent will play.
