I bought this game in the High Street at a reasonable price, and when I got home, I tried to install it. This went very successfully. However, when I tried to proceed any further, problems started. First, the multiplayer mode against the computer failed as soon as there was a war. Secondly, there were various other problems (too numerous to mention!) in the single-player mode. I found that these problems were caused by my graphics drivers in the end, and once I downloaded new ones, the game functioned perfectly. The game is really very good, which is more than can be said for the abysmal heaps of junk which have really abused the Star Trek name up until this point (Starship Creator, anyone...). I would personally rate this game fairly highly, if it was not for the problems I experienced after first installing it. Also, the patch for this game seems to downgrade it rather than upgrade it. And the official website hasn't been updated since June. This game is really quite good, but it seems to me that it would have been a lot better in a few people's minds if the creators had spent a little more time over it.
